Home Exemption City & County of Honolulu

This form is due September 30th! Aloha! It is that time of year when the Home Exemption applications must be in to be able to take advantage of some tax savings! Below are the instructions for filing and below is the City's link for the form. - Only husband and wife on one form, if individual owners, each occupant must file separate forms.
- Fill in the Tax Key of your property
- Print your name, social security number and birth date.
- Print your address, complete with zip code.
- Answer all of the questions
- If more than ONE LIVING UNIT on the property, show a plot plan on the back of the claim form.
- Both husband and wife must sign.
- Home phone and business phone
- PHOTO COPY OF PROOF OF AGE for each OWNER OCCUPANT (driver's license, state ID, etc…)
- File the home exemption claim with the Tax Office by September 30th preceding the tax year for which such exemption is claimed and the exemption will be effective for the next assessment year and tax year.
- Take application and copies to any Satellite City Hall for processing OR mail to Real Property Assessment Division with a self-addressed stamped envelope to have your receipt copy of the home exemption form returned to you.
